DOES provides employment tools to connect District employers, employees and job seekers to opportunities and resources. DOES also promotes and upholds the welfare of job seekers and wage earners by ensuring safe working conditions, advancing opportunities for employment and helping employers find qualified workers and guidance through the administration and collection of employment-related taxes.

  • Job Bank Services – is a component of the District’s DC Network system, a computerized national labor exchange network, which matches employers with job seekers.
  • Labor Standards/Workers Protection – administers and enforces the District’s labor laws.
  • American Job Center -offers job seekers, students, business and career professionals access to a comprehensive array of employment-related services and tools.
