Partnership Successes

  • The D.C. Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) collaborated with the Infant Toddler Family Day Care Organization, the Quorum Help Desk and Kaplan to offer technical assistance to English Language Learners to access Quorum on-line courses. Thirteen teachers were in attendance including eleven (11) Amharic and two (2) Spanish speakers.   This session was the third in a mini-series.  All the early educators in attendance were able to complete the required twelve health and safety classes required by the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG).
  •  Help Me Grow, a CCR&R partner within the DC Department of Health had the opportunity to support a family referred by a child care center located in Ward 8. The family needed assistance in identifying in-home behavioral support services for two preschool age children. The staff met with the parent, and provided an intensive level of support, wrap around services and guidance for  the entire family.  The Help Me Grow team continued to be actively involved with the child and family until the family became stabilized. Due to this support, the children also improved self-regulation in the classroom and were able to fully participate in the rich educational experiences presented throughout the day.
